Une galerie à soi. The strength of the few.

Virginia Woolf is the author of A Room of One’s Own. It is one of my bedside books. Une galerie à soi is a title inspired by this work.
In A Room of One’s Own, Woolf invites us to create a room for ourselves, to define our own space for fulfillment, and to develop our unique creative universe. As an artist, this need for affirmation is essential. This book is a hymn to the struggle against doubt; Une galerie à soi is an echo of these words.
I had the idea to create my gallery when I grasped the essence of her words—when I truly understood the importance of the "room." Woolf observed that upon entering a room, one feels the presence of the person who inhabits it
The parallel between the room, the artist's studio, and the gallery is that the artist's creative force can be felt throughout these places. The materials, the works, the words, the colors, or the objects embody the mental space where we create. I wanted to share these imprints that make my gallery and my studio an essential breeding ground for creation in my life.
Beyond this, the "room" in Virginia Woolf’s work seems to me to be the one we all carry within ourselves. For her, to create is to observe oneself and explore this inner world. This intimate space is a mysterious place that defines the unique vision artists hold of society, others, the environment, life, or death.
A Room of One’s Own is a work that remains contemporary and continues to guide my artistic journey.
