In J’efface, the spirit of the Les petites brutes collection unfolds directly within the material, offering a profound reflection on memory and secrets.

The support anchors itself in reality through a vintage magazine clipping listing flowers for sale. Over this mundane, commercial nomenclature, an oil pencil inscription repeats compulsively, like a schoolboy's punitive lines or a liberating incantation: “J’efface les mots, J’efface les mots...” (I erase the words...). To the right of this ritual of erasure, the oil pastel releases visceral shapes: a blue cloud suspended above a pink silhouette — a near-body — pierced by a phallic red stroke. A stained pink ribbon, crossed in an X, seals the composition like the stigma of an intimate human experience meant to be hidden, a fragment of a private diary that intrigues as much as it holds back.

True to the textured roughness of the collection, this artwork strips away the delicacy of the tulle to let the narrative weight and pigments vibrate in the open. J’efface powerfully explores the traces we try to conceal, transforming trauma or raw fragments into an intimate and universal archive.
