Within the Fragments series, the work La nuit s'écrit (The Night Writes Itself) explores darkness as a space of language. Between muteness and the sign, black becomes a living material here. The work is a visual stanza that unites manuscript, fabric, and drawing to rhythm the space of a memorable moment. It is an exploration of the "force of the few" where words are lost and found again. They bear witness to a transparency and a shadow of the within and the without.
Materials: Paper, fabric, graphite pencil, and missive.
